Style Settings
Style settings are where you can control all aesthetic aspects of your currently selected paragraph. This includes fonts, alignment, kerning, 2D and 3D faces as well as more advanced features like beveling and extrusion.
Text Toolbar
When a text object is selected, you can change its font, point size, formatting, alignment, kerning and fit modes.
Choosing Fonts:
- Click on the font name drop-down menu to preview and choose one of your installed fonts.
- Select the text size by choosing a value from the drop-down menu or entering your own.
- Text can also be scaled from the workspace area using handles.
Font Formatting
Titler supports common text formatting options like Bold, Italic and Underline.
- Bold: Makes the font thicker and more pronounced.
- Italic: Skews the font to the right.
- Underline: Adds and underline to the text
Justification and Alignment
You may also select the way your text justifies in your paragraph box. You can do this by selecting from left, right or center justification.
After setting justification, you may also choose whether your text aligns from the top, middle or bottom in your paragraph box.
Kerning
There are a few ways to adjust kerning in Titler Live. This is helpful for eliminating unwanted spaces between letters and lines. The first way to adjust text tracking is to adjust the values in the kerning adjustment box.
You can also manually adjust kerning between characters.
To manually adjust Kerning:
- Enter text edit mode by double-clicking on the text paragraph.
- Click and drag your mouse over the desired characters
- Move the blue bounding box within the paragraph
- Alternatively, you can hold alt and use the arrow keys to close gaps between characters.
Text Fit Modes
Titler Live lets you assign text fit modes to choose how text behaves in relation to its bounding box. This is useful for making templates or setting a specific text fit behavior.
There are three types of fit modes:
- Fit Box to Text: This mode will increase your bounding box's size as your font size increases.
- Fit Text to Box: Text will always fit inside the bounding box and scale itself to fit inside the box perimeter. You may increase the box size to allow text to expand.
- Fit Text to Box Width: Text will conform to fit the width of the box. This is useful for lists and credit rolls.
Adding Style Layers
Clicking on the add style layers button will give you options to add wither 2D or 3D style elements to your titles. These elements can then be further edited by assigning color and other properties to them right inside the Style Settings Tab.
Adding a Style Layer:

- Select a style type from the list.
- The style will be added to your title and have its own style controls available foe editing in the Style settings.
Style Options

- 3D Face: Creates a new 3D Face of your text with 3D properties like extrusion and beveling capabilities.
- 3D Gloss Face: Creates a new 3D face with a preset gloss gradient and 3D properties like extrusion and beveling capabilities.

Styling Options
2D and 3D style options contain different properties that allow for different customization. For example, 3D Style options can be extruded and beveled, whereas 2D Style options can be blurred and offset.
Working With 3D Style layers
3D style layers include 3D Outline, 3D Face, and 3D Gloss Faces. A 3D Face is the most common type of 3D Style, but they all share the same properties.
Working with 3D Faces
A 3D Face will be split into two different sections, a 3D Face Section and a 3D Controls section. From the 3D Face section, you will be able to change colors, gradients, map videos, enable variables, control opacity, set offsets, layer depth and width settings.

2D Style Layers
2D style layers have different properties than 3D layers. These cannot be extruded but can be blurred and offset. 2D styles are useful to quickly add shadows, blurs and outlines to titles.
Important properties of 2D style layers include:
- Opacity: Controls the transparency value of your object.
- Blur: A Blur value of 0 will be sharp and crisp, where a blur value of 100 will be soft and out of focus.
