Designer Timeline overview

When you customize graphics in the Designer, which is available in Captivate, the Timeline workspace is where you can customize the duration and order of the design layers in your graphics.

The Timeline workspace offers a variety of features that allow you to manage and customize your graphics appearance and behavior.

Open a graphic in the Designer

In Captivate's playout interface, select a graphic layer in the playlist, then click the Edit Graphic button in the Preview panel.

Set a graphic's playback duration

Enter a duration in the Timeline field, which is near the bottom-right corner of the Designer's  canvas window. Enter durations in MM:SS;FF format (MM = two digits for minutes, SS = two digits for seconds, and FF = two digits for frames).

Note: If the timeline includes a Pause point, which is denoted by the orange marker at the top of the timeline. This allows Captivate to pause the graphic at that moment in the timeline during a broadcast until the operator animates out the graphic. For more information, see Create custom graphics with flexible durations.
