The Multi Entry tab has been updated to the Cache List to allow you to store pre-rendered properties while still retaining the ability to edit while live if necessary. You now have the ability to store properties from the Live Data panel and the spreadsheet controller. The Cache List tab will still contain a spreadsheet interface that organizes all the graphic layer’s variables as column headers. You can customize and build/edit the different sets of variables for the same graphic. Please see Utilizing the Pre-cache function for preparing your Cache List for Broadcast here.
- Select the graphic layer from the Layer's workspace that you wish to operate the Cache List with.
- The Layer Properties panel will open, which includes the Cache List tab and all variables that are available for the selected graphic layer. The header cells at the top of the table are the variables that the graphic layer contains. Every cell below it is an instance of that variable. Every row that is composed of these cells will behave as an instance for the graphic layer.
- Double click to edit an existing row of data or to manually enter a new row of data.
- Once you have built your rows of entries for your graphic layer's variables, the entries can be clicked to update the graphic with the customized information in that row.
Note: When that graphic layer is live then clicking on an entry will automatically update the graphic and use animations from the design layers by default to show those changes .
Quick Tip: Any changes made to your properties while on-air default to Auto-update as indicated by the button in the top right of the panel. You can change that to manual update by pressing the button. Then you have the option of manually updating with or without a transition.
You can save your project plus cache by navigating to File > Save As and select Captivate project package + cache.
Important: If you utilized our pre-cache workflow by saving a Project + cache within Captivate and are now broadcasting on a machine that does not have After Effects installed on it, then the properties will not be available to update Live.
