My NewBlue Plugins are missing from Premiere Pro CC 2017

Some users' NewBlue products are "disappearing" after updating to Premiere Pro CC 2017. Fortunately there are easy steps to follow and get your plugins back up and running in Premiere:

Windows

  1. Go to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\7.0\MediaCore\NewBlueFX and move all your plugins out of the folder (you can place them on your desktop temporarily)                    **Note: If there is no NewBlueFX folder in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\7.0\MediaCore see below for further instructions**

  2. Hold down Shift while launching Premiere to clear the plug-in cache.
  3. Close Premiere

  4. Copy your NewBlue Plugins back to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\7.0\MediaCore\NewBlueFX

  5. Launch Premiere (do NOT hold SHIFT)

  6. Your plugins should appear properly in the Video Effects or Video Transitions Library

Mac

  1. Go to Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > Adobe > Common > Plugins > 7.0 > Media Core > NewBlueFX and move all your plugins out of the folder (you can place them on your desktop temporarily)

  2. Open Finder and click Go > Go to Folder and type ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Premiere Pro

  3. Open the folder shown (9.0, 11.0, etc...)

  4. Right click Plugin Loading.log and Move to trash

  5. Launch Premiere

  6. Close Premiere

  7. Move your NewBlue plugins back to Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > Adobe > Common > Plugins > 7.0 > Media Core > NewBlueFX

  8. Your plugins should appear properly in the Video Effects or Video Transitions Library

** If there is no NewBlueFX folder in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\7.0\MediaCore please copy it from C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\CS6\MediaCore.
