Psycho Strobe

What it does: Psycho Strobe generates a sequence of bright flashes of light.

How to use it: First prepare the strobe light source using the Flash control group. Then adjust the timing of the flashes using the Timing control group. Finally, adjust how the background will be affected using the Background control group.

  • The Flash group sets how the actual flash will appear.
  • Saturation adjusts the color strength. At 0, the colors remain unchanged. Turn down Saturation to remove color; turn it up to enhance the colors
  • Contrast increases the contrast between dark and light in the picture.
  • Brightness simply adjusts image brightness.
  • Glow sets the strength of the glow. Drag all the way to the left to show just the original image. Drag to the right to increase the intensity of the glow until it becomes a harsh light.
  • Glow Color sets the color of the actual glow. Use the color dropper to select a color directly from the video. Or, click on the color swatch to create or edit the color directly.
  • Variation adds an amount of randomness to the actual flashes by slightly varying the various flash group settings.
  • The Timing group sets up frequency and timing of the flashes.
  • Rate sets how often the flash will occur.
  • Hold sets how long the flash will hold the display before fading back out.
  • Fade In and Fade Out determines how the flash will fade in or out.
  • Variation allows adding randomness to the flashes. Increase this value to increase randomness of flashes.
  • The Background group sets how the background area will be affected.
  • Saturation adjusts the color strength. At 0, the colors remain unchanged. Turn down Saturation to remove color; turn it up to enhance the colors.
  • Contrast increases the contrast between dark and light in the picture.
  • Brightness simply adjusts image brightness.
  • Set Up makes it much easier to design the light source. Turn on Set Up, then work on the parameters in the Light Source and Shimmer groups. Once these are ready, disable Set Up.
