Align objects and arrange layers in a design

This article describes how to align objects and change the order of layers in a design.

What do you want to do?

Center objects within the workspace

  1. Open a graphic in Titler Pro.

    Tip: For details about using Titler Pro with a video editor, see one of the articles in the Add graphics to projects in your video editor section of our help center.

  2. Select one or more objects in the workspace or timeline.

    Note: If you select more than one object, the objects will maintain their spacing in relation to each other.

  3. Click the Alignment menu and choose one of the following options:
    • Center in Frame: Centers objects horizontally and vertically.
    • Center in Frame Horiz: Centers objects horizontally.
    • Center in Frame Vert: Centers objects vertically.

    Tip: You can also right-click (Windows) or Control + click (Mac) on objects in the workspace and select an alignment option.

Arrange layers

  1. Open a graphic in Titler Pro.

  2. Select one or more objects in the workspace or timeline.
  3. Click the Arrange Layers menu and choose one of the following options:
    • Bring to front: Moves objects to the front of other objects in the workspace and to the top of the timeline.
    • Bring forward: Moves objects forward one level in the workspace and up one layer in the timeline.
    • Send backward: Moves objects backward one level in the workspace and down one layer in the timeline.
    • Send to back: Moves objects backward one level in the workspace and down one layer in the timeline.

    Tip: You can also right-click (Windows) or Control + click (Mac) on objects in the workspace and select an alignment option.

Align objects with each other

  1. Open a graphic in Titler Pro.

    Tip: For details about using Titler Pro with a video editor, see one of the articles in the Add graphics to projects in your video editor section of our help center.

  2. Select two or more objects in the workspace or timeline.
  3. Click the Align Objects menu and choose one of the following options:
    • Align Lefts: Aligns objects to the left side of the leftmost selected object.
    • Align Centers: Centers objects with each other and horizontally based on the original width of the group of selected objects.
    • Align Rights: Aligns objects to the right side of the rightmost selected objects.
    • Align Tops: Aligns objects to the top of the topmost selected object.
    • Align Middles: Centers objects with each other and vertically based on the original height of the group of selected objects.
    • Align Bottoms: Aligns objects to the bottom of the bottommost selected object.
    • Distribute Horizontally: Evenly distributes objects in relation to each other horizontally. (Three or more objects must be selected.)
    • Distribute Vertically: Evenly distributes objects in relation to each other vertically. (Three or more objects must be selected.)

    Tip: You can also right-click (Windows) or Control + click (Mac) on objects in the workspace and select an alignment option.
