Add graphics in MAGIX VEGAS Pro

When you install Titler Pro 7, it is automatically added to any major non-linear editor (NLE) on your computer. Follow the steps below to add Titler Pro 7 graphics to VEGAS Pro projects.

Note: VEGAS Pro's feature to Remove from Project and Delete File(s) is not compatible with Titler Pro assets.

There are two ways to add a Titler Pro graphic to a Vegas Pro project:

  5. Customize the graphic in Titler Pro's workspace. You can select a design from Titler Pro's library, including custom designs you may have already created and saved to the library, or create your own design. For details, see Create graphics in Titler Pro 7.

Note: Titler Pro's View > Background > Video from NLE option is not available when you create a Titler Pro graphic as a media generator.

  6. When you finish customizing the graphic, click the Keep changes  button in the bottom-right corner of the Timeline panel to save the graphic to your project's current session and close Titler Pro.

    Notes

    • The first time you close Titler Pro after creating a new graphic, you'll be prompted to save the Titler Pro project. Enter a name for the *.nbtitle project file, navigate to the location where you want to save the project and cache, and click Save.
    • The graphic's resolution and frame rate are determined by the project's settings in VEGAS Pro.
  7. In the Video Media Generators panel (which opened before Titler Pro), enter the duration for the Titler Pro graphic, then close the panel.

Tip: To re-open the Video Media Generators panel and Titler Pro, click the Generated Media Properties button on the clip in the timeline.

  8. Trim the clip in the timeline to the length you need.

    Important!

    • The clip will loop if the length of the clip in the timeline is longer than the duration specified in the Video Media Generators panel.
    • The clip will cut off if the length of the clip in the timeline is shorter than the duration specified in the Video Media Generators panel.

Tip: Copy a Titler Pro media generator

  1. Copy a Titler Pro clip in VEGAS Pro's timeline.
  2. Click the timeline where you want to insert the new clip, then paste the clip into the timeline.
  3. Select one of the following options in the Paste Options dialog:

    • Create a new copy of the source media — Select this option to treat the new clip as a unique graphic, which you can customize independently of the original clip.
    • Create a reference to the original media — Select this option to treat the new clip as a duplicate of the original clip, so changes you make to either clip appear in both clips.

Add a graphic as an effect

  1. Open a project in VEGAS Pro.
  2. Add a video to the timeline if you haven't already done so.
  3. Add edits to the video where you want to insert the Titler Pro effect.

The duration of the Titler Pro effect is determined by the duration of the video slice where you'll add the effect.

  4. Click the Video FX tab.
  5. Click the NewBlue Titler Pro 7 - OpenFX effect in the Video FX library.
  6. Click the Title Pro preset thumbnail and drag it onto a clip in the timeline.

The Video Event FX panel and Titler Pro automatically open.
