- Open a project or create a new project for a live event.
- In Setup, update project settings that are unique to the next broadcast, such as the graphics, data sources, videos, and outputs. For details, see Create projects for live events.
This is also where you will set your streaming options, including what service you will be streaming to.
When you finish updating the project's settings, click Done in Setup to save the settings to the project's current session. Then, if you want to save the project's settings for future sessions, click File > Save from within the playout interface.Important!
- We recommend you create a unique project for each type of live event that you plan to broadcast. To create a new project with settings that are similar to an existing project (such as the video sources, audio sources, and outputs), open a similar project, click File > Save As and save a copy of the project with a different name, then change only the settings that are different in the new project.
- In VividCast's playout interface, click on a graphic in the Title list and hover over it with your mouse to preview the full graphic. After clicking on the graphic, you can also update all applicable information in the Properties panel or directly in the Graphic Preview panel. For more information, please see the following articles:
Need to connect a graphic to a data source? If you select a graphic that needs to be connected to a data source (for example, a spreadsheet for statistics), either VividCast will prompt you to connect the graphic to a data source, or you can go to the Setup dialog and select data source in the Graphic Control drop-down.
- In addition to streaming your broadcast you can also monitor your output live through HDMI, NDI, or Virtual Webcam. Use the dropdown menu at the top of the VividCast interface to select your monitor output.
- To record a broadcast, including the output and its sources (if those options are enabled in Setup > Recording), click the Record button at the top of the playout interface. It will become green and the counter on the button shows the duration of the recording.
Note: Each time you start recording, VividCast creates a new recording and will not append or overwrite previous recordings.
Important! Recordings may be limited by your system's hardware capabilities. If the output's performance drops, select the MPEG2 encoding option (Setup > Recording > File Format > ts). If the problem persists, reduce the number of live video and live audio sources in the project. - Select a live video source in the Video Switcher to include that video source in the Live Output panel. For details, see Switch video sources during broadcasts.
- To save the project, choose File > Save As, name the project, select VividCast project with Assets from the drop-down list, and click Save. For details, see Save and package VividCast projects to your computer.
- Click the play button for each graphic and video in the playlist that you want to broadcast as live output.
Tip: You can adjust audio input levels and the master volume during a broadcast in Setup > Live Audio Input. For details, see Control audio levels during broadcasts.
