Align and arrange design layers

When you customize graphics in the Designer, you can align design layers and arrange the order of design layers in your graphic.

What do you want to do?

Center design layers within the workspace

  1. In Titler Live's playout interface, select a graphic from the Layers workspace, then click the Edit Graphic button in the Preview panel.
  2. In the Designer, select one or more design layers in the canvas or Timeline workspace.

    Note: If you select more than one design layer, the design layers will maintain their spacing in relation to each other.

  3. Click the Alignment menu item at the top of the Design window and choose one of the following options:
    • Center in Frame: Centers design layers horizontally and vertically.
    • Center in Frame Horiz: Centers design layers horizontally.
    • Center in Frame Vert: Centers design layers vertically.

    Tip: You can also right-click (Windows) or Control + click (Mac) on design layers in the Timeline workspace and select an alignment option.

Arrange layers

  1. In Titler Live's playout interface, select a graphic from the Layers workspace, then click the Graphic Design button in the Preview panel.
  2. In the Designer, select one or more objects in the workspace or timeline.
  3. Click the Arrange Layers menu and choose one of the following options:
    • Bring to front: Moves design layers to the front of other design layers in the canvas and to the top of the timeline workspace.
    • Bring forward: Moves design layers forward one level in the canvas and up one layer in the timeline workspace.
    • Send backward: Moves design layers backward one level in the canvas and down one layer in the timeline workspace.
    • Send to back: Moves design layers backward one level in the canvas and down one layer in the timeline workspace.

    Tip: You can also right-click (Windows) or Control + click (Mac) on design layers in the canvas or timeline workspace and select an alignment option.

Align design layers with each other

  1. In Titler Live's playout interface, select a graphic layer from the Layers workspace, then click the Edit Graphic button in the Preview panel.
  2. In the Designer, select two or more design layers in the canvas or Timeline workspace.
  3. Click the Align Objects menu and choose one of the following options:
    • Align Lefts: Aligns design layers to the left side of the leftmost selected design layer.
    • Align Centers: Centers design layers with each other and horizontally based on the original width of the group of selected design layers.
    • Align Rights: Aligns design layers to the right side of the rightmost selected design layers.
    • Align Tops: Aligns design layers to the top of the topmost selected design layer.
    • Align Middles: Centers design layers with each other and vertically based on the original height of the group of selected design layers.
    • Align Bottoms: Aligns design layers to the bottom of the bottommost selected design layer.
    • Distribute Horizontally: Evenly distributes design layers in relation to each other horizontally. (Three or more design layers must be selected.)
    • Distribute Vertically: Evenly distributes design layers in relation to each other vertically. (Three or more design layers must be selected.)
