Set recording options

  1. Open a project or create a new project for a sporting event.
  2. Click Settings if Settings isn't already open. (It opens automatically when you create a new project.)
  3. In Output, complete the steps in one of the following sections for type of recording that you want to set up.

    Record final output

    1. Click Record Final Output to turn on the option to record the final output during a broadcast.
    2. Enter a File Location where the recording will be saved.
    3. Enter a descriptive File Name Prefix for the recording.

Note: If you create multiple recordings with the same project, StretchCast will automatically append the file name with a unique character to avoid overwriting recordings.

    Record sources

    1. Click ISO Recording to turn on the option to record all connected video and audio sources during a broadcast.

Important! Recordings may be limited by your system's hardware capabilities. If the output's performance drops, select the MPEG2 encoding option, as described later in this article. If the problem persists, reduce the number of video sources and audio sources in the project.

    2. Enter a File Location where the recording will be saved.
    3. Enter a descriptive File Name Prefix for the recording.

Note: If you create multiple recordings with the same project, StretchCast will automatically append the file name with a unique character to avoid overwriting recordings.

    4. Select an Encoder from the drop-down list. The mpg2video encoder produces the highest quality recording, while the h264 encoder is less intensive on your computer's resources.

Important! If you select the mpg2video encoder and the quality of the live output degrades, stop the recording and select a different encoder.

  4. Click Done to close Settings, or click Next to continue customizing the project's settings.
  5. To save the project, close Settings, then choose File > Save As, name the project, select StretchCast with Assets from the drop-down list, and click Save. For details, see Save and package StretchCast projects to your computer.

To record a sporting event, see Record broadcasts.
